Is it strictly black tie?
It's nice when everyone looks swanky, although this doesn't mean full length ball dresses and tuxedos. Suits, ties and cocktail dresses are all fine!

Can people who aren't students attend?
Non-students can attend the ball (obviously they must have a ticket) but they must have either a drivers' license or passport as I.D. Non-students will need a Kent student to sign them in.

How much money should I bring with me?
How long is a piece of string? Bring as much as you think is necessary, but be aware that you can't pay by card and there are no cash points on site.

Is there a cloakroom?
Yes!

Do you search people on the way into the ball?
We reserve the right to operate a random search policy in order to prevent alcohol and other items entering the site.

Why doesn't the ball go on until 5/6/7am like some other universities?
Canterbury City Council will only grant us a license until 2am. We have tried to extend this but objections from local residents prevent the application from going any further. We're really sorry! We'd love it to be open longer as well! Why not get a before and after ticket and carry on the party in The Venue!
